The story so far...

The end of the beginning (2011- )

The long awaited third album has finally been completed and sealed in the March of 2011. The record, titled ’Without Saving’ is the first true collaboration since the new formation. It represents everything that the band and the fans have stood for in the past years, showing a whole new range of thought provoking ideas, both musically and lyrically, soon available to all the fans out there. Hence, the latest Everwood album in the new millennium is not the beginning, and not the end, neither is it the beginning of the end, but rather the end of their beginning.

The new Everwood (2008 - 2010)

The year 2008 had brought great changes in the ever forming lifestyle of the band. One of the founding members (Viktor Erdos) had left, shortly before the lead singer Balázs Koncz left too. With their departure, the new Everwood had begun to work on its future, and untied the knots its past had been bound to. It was the the time of new beginnings, and a time to close a long season. 
With the coming of the new bassist, Sandor Kállai - whose virtuosity and maturity in music is ever since a great addition to the band, not to mention his vocal performance - the band has found new ways of expressing itself. 
And after a few weeks of contemplation, the band has found Everwood’s current lead singer Mátyás Haraszti, who has lived up to – and even exceeded – the level of devotion the band had set for him. With his years living in the realm of professional performance, and his experience in singing all sorts of different music, he had no trouble fitting in with the group. 
Wherefore, the changes were inevitable; The third studio album will be the beginning of a new era in the life of Everwood. It is a herald of the future of the band with a musical world of a modern, refined weave in music, with an unmistakable streak of originality. Breaking through the confines of heavy metal and progressive rock, the new album will most likely deliver a style of play that is yet unperceived, vigorous, and intensified with the eclectic elements that are present in contemporary rock.

The Raven's nest (2007)

Together with their new drummer – Tamás Szabó – the band was set to record their second album, titled The Raven’s Nest. It was also published by Burning Star Records in many countries, except Hungary, where Everwood was in contract with CLS Records. The record produced outstanding feedback from both the official media and from the fans too, so there was ample opportunity to show it off to the audience. The most memorable event was probably their album-debut concert, where Everwood performed together with the legendary Jorn Lande on his tour in Budapest.

The ‘Mind Games’ Era (2004-2006)

From the beginning of 2004, the preparations for the first studio album were already taking form. By the summer, after months of hard work, the band – by now called Everwood - finally started their first studio session. The songs were recorded at the Bakery Studio (Érd, Hungary), with the help and direction of producer Zoltán Varga. In 2005, the band had contracted a Greek label - Burning Star Records – and the first album titled Mind Games landed onto the shelves of record stores in many European countries, and also the USA, Argentina and Japan. It was distributed in Hungary by CLS Records.
Between 2005 and 2006, Everwood had performed at many venues, including a solo concert of the Psychotic Waltz singer, Devon Graves, and also played as the support band before the British prog-rock legend Arena at the Sziget Festival 2006 in Hungary, so they had ample opportunity to perform and promote Mind Games. The band’s paths also lead to Rome around this period, where they played some very successful gigs during the same year.
It was during this time (2005), that the band had found its ultimate drummer – Tamás Szabó. His precision, versatility and professional attitude had a great impact on the future advancement of Everwood’s music.

The First Steps... (1997-2003)

The band was founded by Attila Tänczer (keyboards) and Viktor Erdős (bass) in 1997. Originally going by the name of “Neverwood”, the band’s first performance took place in 1999. After a couple of changes in members, the band finally took up its first steadfast formation, with the arrival of Ferenc Farkas in 2000. The new guitarist turned out to be a keystone, a new and promising asset to the team. It was the same year that the band recorded its first demo, bearing the title ‘Újjászületés’ (Rejuvenation).
